The Press Democrat recently reported that construction will soon begin on the Laguna de Santa Rosa Trail between Stone Farm (Occidental and Sanford roads) and Sebastopol’s Laguna de Santa Rosa Preserve near Highway 12. The planning was slow due to environmental and other concerns; the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District still needs final permits from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Regional Water Quality Control Board and California Department of Fish and Game.

Once construction on this 2.4 mi. section of trail is complete, Sonoma County Regional Parks will manage it. Trail users will be able to park at Occidental Road and at Highway 12. Once more funding is available, other trails will be constructed in the City of Santa Rosa open space parcels.

Where’s the siting map of this trail? A link would be very helpful for those not in the know.
