The Trails Council Adopt-A-Site program is our newest program. Within Sonoma County public lands there are only a handful of backpacking and/or hike and bike campsites. These sites are popular among tourists and locals alike. Our goal is to improve and steward these sites on a regular basis. We’re currently focusing on the sites at Salt Point State Park – Woodside Campground, 10 hike/bike sites and 20 hike-in sites and sites at the Willow Creek Environmental Campground- Sonoma Coast State Park. On June 6-7, 2009 all of the Salt Point sites were repaired and we’re currently looking for someone to become the steward for Salt Point. A steward keeps a close eye on the sites and provides feedback to the Trails Council.
