A Memorial Day weekend electrical fire in the ranger station at Salt Point State Park burned down the structure and has forced the postponement of the REI/Sonoma County Trails Council’ s National Trails Day event. We had planned for a weekend of trail and campground cleanup, but due to the fire damage, this event will be rescheduled later in the year. We’re sorry that we won’t be able to get to work at the park, but we will announce a new date as soon as possible.

Saturday, May 1 & 8: Creekside Trail maintenance, Shiloh Regional Park. In the first part of this two-day project, we’ll rebuild a steep and entrenched section, as well as several other problem areas. Meet at Shiloh parking lot, 5750 Faught Road, Windsor, CA. Contact Tim Mayer for more information or to sign up.

Parks employee Karen Broderick for preparing all the excellent food. And of course, our volunteers and crew leaders who repaired steps, brushed and cleared 15 miles of trail, and repaired 30 hike and bike campsites!
